ISFRI 2027 will be hosted by the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. This page provides information to help attendees plan travel to Southern California, reach the USC campus, arrange accommodations, and prepare for international travel.

ISFRI 2027 will take place at the University of Southern California’s University Park Campus, located just south of Downtown Los Angeles and adjacent to Exposition Park.
Specific congress buildings, meeting rooms, registration locations, and daily access information will be added as the program is finalized.
Getting to Los Angeles
Los Angeles is served by multiple commercial airports. For most international attendees, Los Angeles International Airport will offer the greatest range of direct and connecting flights. Hollywood Burbank Airport can be a convenient alternative for some domestic itineraries.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Primary international/domestic gateway
Los Angeles International Airport is the primary airport for most international travelers attending ISFRI 2027. LAX offers extensive domestic and international service and multiple ground transportation options, including rideshare, taxis, rental cars, public transit, and FlyAway bus service.
Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR)
Good domestic gateway
Hollywood Burbank Airport may be a convenient alternative for travelers arriving on selected domestic routes. BUR offers rideshare, taxis, rental cars, local bus connections, Metrolink rail service, and Amtrak service through nearby airport stations.
Rideshare & Taxi
Rideshare and taxi services operate throughout the Los Angeles region and are likely to be the simplest option for many attendees traveling with luggage. Follow airport-specific instructions for designated passenger pickup locations.
Getting to USC
Los Angeles is a large metropolitan area, and travel times can vary substantially with traffic. Allow additional time when traveling between airports, hotels, and the USC campus.
Public Transportation
USC’s University Park Campus is served by Los Angeles Metro, including rail service adjacent to campus. The Metro E Line serves stations near USC and Exposition Park.
Rental Cars
Rental cars are available at both LAX and Hollywood Burbank Airport. A rental car is generally most useful for attendees planning travel beyond central Los Angeles rather than simply commuting between a hotel and USC.
A note about getting around Los Angeles
Los Angeles is geographically large. Attractions that appear close on a map may require considerably more travel time than expected, particularly during peak traffic periods. When planning sightseeing before or after the congress, allow generous travel time and consider grouping activities by neighborhood.
Parking at USC
Parking information for ISFRI 2027 attendees will be provided closer to the meeting. USC operates several parking structures around the University Park Campus. Attendees planning to drive should consult the final congress transportation instructions before arrival.
Congress Hotel
Official ISFRI 2027 hotel information, negotiated rates, and reservation links will be announced as arrangements are finalized.
Attendees may wish to wait for official congress lodging information before making non-refundable reservations.
International Visitors
Attendees traveling to the United States are responsible for determining the passport, visa, and entry requirements applicable to their individual circumstances and nationality.
Travelers who require a U.S. visitor visa should allow adequate time for the application process. The U.S. Department of State identifies attendance at a scientific, educational, professional, or business conference as an activity permitted under a B-1 visitor visa. Some travelers may instead be eligible to enter under the Visa Waiver Program, which requires an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) before travel.
Accessibility
USC provides accessible campus facilities and resources. Attendees who require accommodations related to participation in ISFRI 2027 should contact the congress organizers in advance so appropriate arrangements can be coordinated.
Weather
Los Angeles typically experiences mild to warm conditions in late May, with cooler mornings and evenings. Indoor meeting spaces may be substantially cooler than outdoor temperatures, so layered clothing is recommended.
